Socks are put away until March - just say NO to socks and sandals!

Heading out . .

aaaahhh - we made it from the farm just ahead of the Alberta Clipper!  We had to deliver some books for Santuari Hospice -

The trip to Lethbridge was uneventful, and we managed to get up on Monday morning and finish what we needed to do in Canada (banking and post office!) and headed south.  One thing to warn people of . . . since July, you are NOT allowed to bring whole tomatoes into the U.S.  - who knew?  We had to give up one whole tomato - I guess it could be worse!  Anyway, we now know - and warn all others - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE A WHOLE TOMATO across the border (cut it up, if you must, that is OK  ????)

I think in my past life - or maybe in my next life - I should be an geologist.  The rock formations in Southern Montana and Idaho are just amazing - I just can't say enough about that kind of stuff!  Of course, I have no pictures because it would just be a big blurrrrrr taken from a truck doing 65 MPH . . .  We made it to Idaho Falls second night and woke up to lots of rockin' and rollin' on Tuesday morning with wind (signs of the Alberta Clipper!).  We perservered through the winds, the construction and heavy freeway traffic in Salt Lake City and then next thing we knew, we were back in the land of the red rock - spent two nights in St. George.

 Red rock, white steeples on every corner, and two liquor stores (for a city of about 100,000 - what's up with that!) . .

Kipper had a great time at the reservoir lake!;

The next day we had a L-o-n-g day to Casa Grande - and took the scenic route around the new bridge at the Hoover Dam (thanks Phil).  What a beautiful drive - again, my geology spirit was awakened.  Then . . .

we hit Phoenix at 5 pm - rush hour in a big, big city.

 aaarrggghhh . . . give me the Red Rock!!!

but . . . here we are - +75 today in Casa Grande and just getting a lot of last minute things done before heading over the border to Mexico on Tuesday.  Kipper is doing very well - on the long days he is on medication (gravol) . . . hmmm, maybe I should think about that!

First of many sunsets - St. George, Utah

Organized chaos . . .

one week . . . we should be on the road and heading for points south.  Even though I'm not working now (for one whole week!) it seems so much more disorganized than last time.  We've got a long list of things to do before leaving, but I suppose it'll all get done and what doesn't, just doesn't!  The fifth wheel is pretty much loaded - just have to throw in a few last minute things - but the flip flops, bathing suits and towels are packed so really, that's pretty much the essentials right there  :)    Again, our itinerary is pretty flimsy, but we know for sure we are meeting up with some fellow travellers in Organ Pipe State Park, Arizona  on Nov 22nd, and crossing into Mexico together on the morning of November 23rd.  Right now it seems to make sense to travel with others for our peace of mind.  If all goes as planned, we will be in San Carlos that evening, and enjoying a feast of fresh shrimp and tacos (and maybe a couple of cool ones as well). ....  I think we'll stay in San Carlos for a few days - and then head to Celestino for a bit before settling in Lo de Marcos where we will spend the majority of the winter.  We will keep in touch - Arturo y de Beeb
